Staff Recruitment and Selection

All staff provided by Raeburn Healthcare are subject to the following screening process in advance of being placed with our clients.

Raeburn Healthcare’s Community Care Workers receive a thorough, bespoke induction which includes Raeburn Policies and Procedures, National Care Standards, Protection of Vulnerable Adults, Medication Management, Basic Life Support, First Aid and Food Hygiene. Continuous development is attained through participation in Raeburn Healthcare’s on-going training and development programmes.

Registered Nurses and Care Assistants

  • Completion of standard application form detailing employment history and including a health declaration.
  • Interview with in-house Recruitment Consultant.
  • Proof of identity x 3 (e.g. passport/birth certificate/photo driving licence/utility bill).
  • Return of minimum two satisfactory written professional references, one of which must be sought from most recent employer.
  • PVG must be returned prior to commencement. If the applicant has not been resident in the UK for the preceding five years, a Criminal Record Statement for their country of origin or previous residence must be provided.
  • Record of continuing professional development.
  • Record of statutory training.
  • Nurses and Carers from out with the European Union/Commonwealth Countries must hold a valid working visa. Any areas of doubt must be checked with the Home Office.
  • Minimum six months experience in a related setting.
  • Prior to starting work, all applicants attend an Introduction session in the office. Statutory and other training records are checked and updates facilitated when required.

In addition for training Nurses

  • Interview by a Registered General Nurse.
  • Professional qualifications are verified with the Nursing & Midwifery Council followed by regular checks via the internet that qualifications are current.
